Federal Judge Denies Failed Bank's Attempt To Stop Receivership

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A federal judge in the District of Columbia on March 5 denied the failed United Western Bank's request to remove the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. as its receiver because the bank has failed to show that the U.S. Office of Thrift Supervision's (OTS) appointment of the receiver was arbitrary or capricious (United Western Bank v.
