NEW ORLEANS - Prominent tobacco and asbestos litigator Richard "Dickie" Scruggs' guilty plea to bribing a judge who presided over a fee dispute has been affirmed by the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, which said in an April 12 decision that he had demonstrated neither an absence of jurisdiction nor actual innocence (United States of America v.
