FRESNO, Calif. - A federal magistrate judge in California on April 1 granted default judgment to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., which, as the receiver for the failed County Bank of Merced, Calif., sued the bank's former officers in connection with 12 loans the bank made that the FDIC says caused bank losses in excess of $42 million (Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. v.
